Vista Lago Residences

Vista Lago Residences is a development of 18 individually designed, sustainable villas in Real de La Quinta, a 200-hectare country club estate in the foothills of the Sierra de las Nieves in Benahavís. The estate lies between Marbella's La Concha mountain and La Zagaleta, borders a UNESCO biosphere reserve and is a 15-minute drive from Marbella. The villas occupy 6.5 hectares on the highest villa plot of the resort, with views over the Mediterranean to the Strait of Gibraltar and the coast of Africa. At the 2022 International Property Awards, up against more than 500 developments from around the world, Vista Lago was named World's Best Residential Development, and it also won Best Architecture in Europe and Best Residential Development. No two villas are alike: each has its own design, interiors and orientation towards the view. Every villa stands on an individual plot for privacy, with large terraces, a garden big enough for a vegetable plot, a true infinity pool of 56 to 116 m² looking out to sea and a multi-use basement that can be fitted out as an entertainment room, gym or home office. Inside/outside living is at the heart of the design: in key parts of each villa the floor-to-ceiling windows slide into the walls, so the lounge and terrace become one space. Master bedrooms are suites designed to five-star hotel standards. Each villa is a smart home: a Loxone system integrates lighting, climate, blinds and security. Air conditioning and heating run on a heat pump with aerothermal hot water, with water underfloor heating in the main rooms, heat-recovery ventilation and 8 kW of solar panels; there is a charging point for electric cars, minimal-frame aluminium windows with motorised blinds where required, and custom-made kitchens with top-level appliances. Villas on four levels have a domestic lift. The villas are delivered unfurnished except for the fitted kitchen; a complete interior design package can be added as an option. The development is in the process of BREEAM certification, the international benchmark for sustainable building, and Real de La Quinta was the first urban development project in Spain to be certified by BREEAM. Real de La Quinta's amenities are under construction. At their centre is El Lago Club, for residents and their guests, around a 36,000 m² lake more than 400 metres long, with an artificial beach, an enclosed swimming area and non-motorised water sports. The plans also include an executive golf course around the lake with a golf academy and practice areas, a health and wellness centre with a spa, sauna and 25-metre heated pool, tennis and padel courts, a restaurant, bar and snack bar, a small shopping area, a running and cycling route around the lake, a boutique hotel and a kids' club with a play park. Puerto Banús is about 15 minutes away, Estepona 25 minutes, Málaga airport 35 minutes and Gibraltar airport 50 minutes.
